Sustainable Wine Show: November 2022

SWR Thought Leadership Series: Sustainable innovation at scale in Spain

In this episode Sustainable Wine’s Toby Webb speaks to Miguel Torres, fourth generation of the Torres family and president of Bodegas Torres in Penedès. Torres shares the various sustainability initiatives and innovations underway at Familia Torres, highlighting how the winery is adapting to climate change, reducing emissions, and capturing carbon. 

They discuss how to engage actors throughout the wine value chain in climate change issues, the importance of technology investments in sustainability, and more.

In this Sustainable Wine Roundtable (SWR) Member Interview podcast Tom Owtram talks with Maryna Calow, head of communications at Wines of South Africa (WOSA). 

 

WOSA is a not-for-profit industry organisation which promotes the exports of all South African wine in key international markets. They discuss the current challenges faced by the South African wine industry, how sustainability is currently perceived, the barriers to organic adoption and certification, the potential trade offs when shipping wine in bulk, and highlights from Cape Wine 2022 where sustainability took centre stage of the three day conference.
